Do some people use their mixed martial arts training and experience for bad purposes?
Question by cannonball: Do some people use their mixed martial arts training and experience for bad purposes?
Take for instance, do some people use their mixed martial arts training to intimidate people or to start fights? What happens if mixed martial arts training gets into the hands of a bad person? Is there some sort of rule that if a fighter gets caught fighting outside of the gym or octagon, then he or she gets kicked out of the training facility? In other words, do they get punished for using their training for bad purposes?

To quote Mr. Miagui, there are no bad students, only bad teachers. I would imagine that if an instructor is lax enough in teaching discipline to his students to allow them to get very far in their training then he’s not going to be very good about ensuring they only use it the right way. Really though most of those people are experienced martial artists. In my experience you don’t get far in martial arts if you’re misusing what you learn.
There are always bad apples, but when you go around picking fights outside of the ring you eventually land in jail.

If someone gets caught fighting outside of the gym, it’s usually the court system that punishes them. That’s why we pay our taxes.
Most gyms don’t tolerate people being jerks to begin with. A gym is like a family and everyone tries to help everyone else out. If someone is bullying other students, there’s a fair chance they’ll be partnered with the best fighter in the gym in order to provide them with an opportunity to be on the receiving end of some violence. If they don’t get the message after that, they’re usually shown the door.
i dont know exactly where but that is the case at some facilities. you’re not allowed to fight outside of the gym unless you MUST defend you or someone’s life
if you’re in an organization like the UFC then you’re not allowed to fight outside the octagon at all. the first time you do you’d get fined and suspended for a certain amount of time. if it happens again then you get cut
It is really bad things sometimes that others try to use what they able to know in MMA at their personal interest, especially those that been influence by what they seen in some video reference like youtube, they are acting like they are tough beyond the others due to the skills they achieve on some gym.
But, this kind of attitude and behaviour mostly occur on teenagers, or those that not been guided by the instructor itself, it is really important that practitioners must instructed accordingly about some important issues and concerns, and those people intend to use their ability on resolving their personal troubles, must face penalties, suspension or immediate ban on the gym.
